ADPD chair Sandra Gauci said that Isabelle Bonnici and her family have won the support of thousands of people across a spectrum of political differences and in a normal country, there would have already been calls for Abela’s resignation.

ADPD – The Green Party chairperson Sandra Gauci said that the party also expected to see criminal action against those who did nothing to prevent the fraud despite being duty-bound to do so.

An ADPD statement noted that it was good that the Maltese government in the Council of Ministers on the Environment as well as Malta's MEPs had supported the measure.

Gauci is upset at the fact there are no ADPD representatives on local councils and said the party plans to hold meetings with NGOs to create a “bridge” between them and to work together on a credible manifesto.

On his end, ADPD Secretary General Ralph Cassar said that MPs, ministers and the Prime Minister are putting up a "weak and pathetic" defence to those involved in the fraudulent case.

Whether this will translate into a boost of popularity for her party – ADPD obtained 4,747 first-count votes in last year’s general election, roughly 1.6% of the national vote – remains to be seen.

On Friday evening, Rangers from the Malta Ranger attended a Gozo panel discussion with independent MEP candidate Arnold Cassola, PN’s Peter Agius and ADPD’s Sandra Gauci.
