The Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) has congratulated Nigerian sprint queen Tobi Amusan for her incredible victory at the Diamond League.

Amusan had earlier won heat 2 with 7.91secs and she ended the day with 7.77secs to emerge as champion.

It was gathered that Amusan broke fellow Nigerian, Gloria Alozie’s longstanding continental mark of 7.82 seconds set in 1999.

Known for acquiring retail supermarkets such as Shoprite Holdings, operators of Shoprite supermarkets in Nigeria, Amusan is on the boards of several Nigerian companies, including Garages Limited, Southern Petroleum Limited, African Paints Nigeria Limited.

Now training under the renowned coach Glen Mills, who has a storied history of guiding sprinters like Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake to world dominance, Amusan’s ambition is set on redemption.
