The Mexican military allegedly arrested the head of security for Ivan Archivaldo Guzman, the leader of Los Chapitos and son of jailed former Sinaloa kingpin, Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman on Thursday, after struggling to calm the violence in the area.

His sons, Ovidio and Ivan Archivaldo, have allegedly been running the family business since El Chapo was extradited to the US in 2017.

More prominent are his older brothers by Guzmán's first marriage to Maria Alejandrina Salazar Hernandez - Ivan Archivaldo Guzman Salazar and Jesus Alfredo Guzman Salazar, both 36.

Two more of Joaquín Guzmán López Loera’s sons who helped take over his business after his arrest in 2016, Iván Archivaldo Guzmán Salazar and Jesús Alfredo Guzmán Salazar, also face charges in the United States.

Unconfirmed reports from Sinaloa have claimed 39-year-old Iván Archivaldo Guzmán, El Chapo’s eldest son, has been killed or captured by Mexican authorities.
