Auke Feenstra himself was satisfied with his debut.

This week, the Juneau Planning Commission approved a series of land rezones that span from North Douglas to Auke Bay.

His employer’s shuttle ferry pulls up next to the state ferry terminal in Juneau’s Auke Bay.

The team of Skip Jefferies, Barry Lewis, Auke Engelkes and Stuart McKenzie came in with an unbelievable score of 57.5 which in the conditions we played in was a great score indeed.

This is a collaborative effort with the University of Alaska Southeast, University of Alaska Fairbanks, NOAA Fisheries Alaska Regional Office and Alaska Fisheries Science Center/Auke Bay Laboratories and the Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission.

Cindy Tribuzio, a research fish biologist in Juneau, at the Auke Bay Laboratories with the National Marine Fisheries Service, said there are a few types of sharks that aren’t strangers to Alaska’s waters – the salmon sharks are among them.

In the early 1990s the state considered selling the Malaspina and tied it up in Auke Bay without power for a winter.

Other nominees include history teacher Amy Galloway at West Valley High School in Fairbanks, and special education resource teacher Pamela Garcia at Auke Bay Elementary School in Juneau.

There are also a number of statues of famous city inhabitants, such as Jan van Hooff (by Auke Hettema, 1992) and Frits Philips (by Kees Verkade ) on the Market Square.
