The founder of Afe Babalola University Ado Ekiti, Chief Afe Babalola, on Wednesday, lamented the poverty, hunger and the new trend of begging pervading the country, saying these were unnecessary in in view of its vast endowments.

ABUAD Founder, Aare Afe Babalola (SAN), said the partnership will make the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital ( ABUADTH ) and Aster to sign a pact in the areas of training, consultancy, offering of technical expertise and in medical administration.

Babalola said that, with the establishment of Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, there would be of no need for Nigerians to travel abroad for medical treatment, saying the university was set up to correct imbalances in the education sector.

Babalola, who lamented the current state of the country’s debt profile, expressed sadness that the debt incurred were not channeled appropriately but were spent on questionable priorities.

Earlier, counsel to the NNPCL, Mr Kehinde Ogunwumiju (SAN) from Afe Babalola and Co., and other defendants had challenged the jurisdiction of the court to determine the suit.
