After traveling to Hartselle for a pair of area games Friday, the Bearcats and Lady Bearcats were back home Tuesday night to battle Oxford.

The Crushers hosted the Bearcats in their last pre-season game last Thursday at the Wellness Centre, where the Bearcats outlasted the Crushers by a 5-4 margin.

The Niagara University Purple Eagles scored twice in the closing 2:34 of the contest and topped the Binghamton Bearcats 11-9 in women's lacrosse on Sunday afternoon at the Bearcats Sports Complex in Vestal.

The Bearcats are set to face off against the Seawolves this Friday at 7 p.m. from the Bearcats Sports Complex in Vestal, New York.

Both teams would go back and forth in the half’s opening minutes, with the visitors cutting the Bearcats’ lead to as little as eight points.

Clay-Chalkville led the Bearcats 42-0 at halftime and went on to win it 49-6 to advance to round two.

Despite the pressure from UMass Lowell, the Bearcats’ offensive and defensive lines would work together to even the score and keep the River Hawks off the board.

Emory Jones completed a seven-yard pass to Ryan Montgomery for the Cincinnati Bearcats first touchdown of the night vs. the Houston Cougars on Saturday.

Junior guard Armon Harried led all Bearcats with 17 points.

Notably, this would be the only opportunity the Bearcats would have in the first half.

The Bearcats are slated to compete in the NCAA East Regional from May 24 to May 27 at Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida.

The Bearcats continued to build their lead in the third when Sullivan drove Roselli in with an RBI double and sophomore infielder Devan Bade registered a RBI triple of his own, making the score 5-1.

The Bearcats’ offense stayed hot as redshirt sophomore guard Ella Wanzer drained a three-pointer to give Binghamton a 7-5 lead.

The Bearcats’ season ended earlier this week when they were eliminated from the American Athletic Conference Tournament.

The Panthers’ tactical net play proved too much for the Bearcats as they went down in four sets.

Those yelling for the Bearcats on Friday night included Helen Hamilton and Kenneth Speegle, Doris Lessman and Kermit Robinson, Gwen Hart and Elwin Robinson and Jeanette and Bobby Joe Blalock.

While the Bearcats plated four more runs in the ninth, it would not be enough as they dropped game two 17-7.

After outshooting the Retrievers in the first half 6-3, the Bearcats conceded a lone score late in the match and were unable to force an overtime period in the final minutes of play.
