A statement from Blaby Parish Council read: “Blaby Parish Council is saddened to hear of Mr Smith's and Mr Savage's conclusion as we welcome parishioners from all walks of life and indeed welcome diversity.

Blaby District Council’s planning officers have recommended the proposal, which will be discussed at next Thursday (April 6), for approval.

That includes four in Leicester itself, three in the Charnwood borough, and one in each of Harborough, Blaby, and Hinckley and Bosworth respectively.

The appeal was launched after the new operators of the former Livesey Lodge, in Livesey Drive, received an enforcement notice and a stop notice from Blaby District Council in March.

Blaby District Council has vowed to make residents feel safe after the death of Bhim Kohli.

Councillor Les Phillimore, Blaby District Council portfolio holder for housing, community and environmental services, said: “Many of us love dogs and have them as pets.

Passed away peacefully on the 15th of December 2023 at Woodway Residential Care Home, Blaby with her family by her side.

As well as the city of Leicester, the lockdown area includes parts of Leicestershire that touch on the city’s boundaries, including parts of Blaby District and Charnwood in the county.
