The result is that they are now siding with Serbs against Bosniaks, Serbs have preserved their ethnically cleansed territory and don’t care about anything else, while Bosniaks want centralisation of the country.

During the war, Croats moved to the western side and Bosniaks to the east.

In its closing statement at Mladic’s trial, the prosecution said that he had “a criminal intention to remove Bosniaks and Croats from the territories claimed by Serbs”.

He was also accused of having a hand in the forcible deportation of Bosniaks, Bosnian Croats or other non-Serbs and terror attacks against civilians.

Although Cyrillic is taught in Bosnia, most Bosnians, especially non-Serbs ( Bosniaks and Croats ), favor Latin.

A significant split soon developed on the issue of whether to stay with the Yugoslav federation (overwhelmingly favored among Serbs) or seek independence (overwhelmingly favored among Bosniaks and Croats).

As the movement began to gain popularity, the Partisans gained strength from Croats, Bosniaks, Serbs, Slovenes, and Macedonians who believed in a unified, but federal, Yugoslav state.

Bosniaks are the largest group of the three, with Serbs second and Croats third.

Bosniaks regard the attack on the peace rally that was organized in Sarajevo on 5 April 1992, as marking the start of warfare between the three major communities.

Consequently, the turmoil in Yugoslavia in the 1990s generated significant popular pressure in Turkey to react and protect its kin-peoples, the Bosniaks in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sandžak, and the Albanians in Kosovo.

Most Bosnians refugees are Muslim, ethnically Bosniaks (87%); they have settled primarily in south St. Louis and South County.

The Arabic alphabet had been used by Bosniaks ; Greek writing is out of use there, and Arabic and Glagolitic persisted so far partly in religious liturgies.

The Graz agreement caused deep division inside the Croat community and strengthened the separation group, which led to the conflict with Bosniaks.

The House of Peoples has 15 delegates chosen by parliaments of the entities, two-thirds of which come from the Federation (5 Croat and 5 Bosniaks) and one-third from the Republika Srpska (5 Serbs).
