Dame Deborah, who set up the Bowelbabe cancer research fund and died last year at the age of 40 after suffering from bowel cancer, was named in the category of authored documentary.

She worked to establish the Bowelbabe Fund for Cancer Research UK, which has raised more than £11 million since the fund was launched last May.

Caroline has also found a lot of comfort in online support – particularly surrounding the campaign from Bowelbabe Deborah James who died in 2022 at the age of 40 from bowel cancer.
