Burpengary

A timber cutting town turned truck stop on the Bruce Highway, Burpengary, is now a booming suburb of about 16,500 people and a roughly 30-minute drive from Dolphins Oval.

Officers were searching a home in Burpengary East on Saturday afternoon when they were confronted by the man, causing them to open fire.

A 38-year-old Burpengary man and 42-year-old Scarborough man were each charged with three counts of extortion, two counts of armed robbery and one count of using a carriage to menace.
