Kim Clinkunbroomer, the mother of slain Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy Ryan Clinkunbroomer and Brittany Lindsey, the fiancee of slain Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy Ryan Clinkunbroomer, speaks to ABC News in an exclusive interview.

Clinkunbroomer, an eight-year veteran of the sheriff’s office, was “a dedicated, hard-working deputy sheriff,” Clinkunbroomer’s family said in a statement read on Monday by the sheriff.

Clinkunbroomer followed his father and a grandfather by working for the Sheriff’s Department.

Kevin Eduardo Cataneo Salazar, 29, was charged Sept. 20 with capital murder for Clinkunbroomer’s shooting.

Mutiple colleagues talked of a FaceTime call they received from Clinkunbroomer after his first date with Brittany Lindsey.
