The crimelord formerly known as the Penguin is now Mayor Oswald Cobblepot -- elected to be Gotham's leader by promising to outlaw vigilantes and villains alike.

Centered around Oswald Cobblepot’s ascension to the crime boss of Gotham City, the series takes place following the events of 2022’s which saw Gotham City’s criminal underworld experiencing a power vacuum with the death of Carmine Falcone.

She will be named Oswalda Cobblepot in the series, which will see Hamish Linklater voice Bruce Wayne/Batman.

Showrunner Lauren LeFranc (Chuck, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) has done an impressive job of fleshing out the character arc of Colin Farrell’s transformative version of Oswald Cobblepot — and Gotham City with it.

And as Catwoman recovers, she looks to even the score and get some payback with a little help from her friends: Riddler and Oswald Cobblepot.

John Turturro is Carmine Falcone, a Gotham crime boss, while Collin Farrell plays Oswald "Oz" Cobblepot, a.k.a. The Penguin.

Now we get official word that he will be taking on the role Gotham’s “Gentleman of Crime,” Oswald Cobblepot a.k.a. The Penguin.

Considering himself a gentleman with a suit, monocle and cane, the Penguin or Oswald Cobblepot runs the Iceberg Lounge, a nightclub which Batman occasionally uses to source information of criminal activities.

The result comes without the weight usually characterized by Oswald Cobblepot in the comics.

Edward Elliot and Theodore Cobblepot also each had a bridge named for them.

In early scripts Max Shreck was the "golden boy" of the Cobblepot family, whereas Penguin was the deformed outsider.

Plot On a snowy Christmas night, Tucker and Esther Cobblepot throw their deformed infant child Oswald into Gotham River, fearing he would become a menace to society after attacking their pet cat.

Then, in 2014, Kane had a recurring role in the TV series Gotham as Gertrude Kapelput, Oswald Cobblepot's (Penguin's) mother.
