Corrosives

The term includes, among other wastes, toxins, corrosives, flammable materials, irritants, strong sensitizers and materials which generate pressure by decomposition, heat or otherwise.

Chromates are often used to manufacture, amongst other things, leather products, paints, cement, mortar and anti-corrosives.

Solid wire also provides mechanical ruggedness; and, because it has relatively less surface area which is exposed to attack by corrosives, protection against the environment.

The standard first aid measures for alkali spills on the skin is, as for other corrosives, irrigation with large quantities of water.
