Head Equity, Planet Capital, Paul Uzum, said Nestle posted its first loss in decades while PZ Cussons, Unilever, Nigerian Breweries, Guinness and International Breweries have all performed woefully this year.

Conversely, PZ Cussons led the gainers’ table, gaining N1.15 to close at N13.45 per share.

Former Minister of Health and Chairman, PZ Cussons Foundation, Prof. Eyitayo Lambo, who spoke at an event to mark this years global handwashing day, said the firm will continue to promote health and well being of the citizens.

In 2002, Paterson Zochonis Plc was renamed PZ Cussons Plc.

Over the years, PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc had competed favourably with the likes of UAC Nigeria Plc, Unilever Nigeria Plc and Cadbury Nigeria Plc and even dominated the market at some point in the 70’s and 80’s.
