Long cutscenes are nothing new to Kojima's games, with boasting a 27 minute cutscene and 71 minutes comprised of 4 separate cutscenes in the game's finale.

For context, the remaster—Star Ocean: Second Evolution—featured mostly unchanged gameplay but introduced a higher-quality soundtrack, additional story missions, and new animated cutscenes.

In the first thirty minutes of the game, they’ve already given us two of the most horrifying, impressive cutscenes of the entire series so far.

It can also impact cutscenes, including the dialogue throughout a playthrough.

Outside of some cutscenes with one of his cohorts, James (played by Troy Baker in the TV series), the game never gives an insight into how his evil extends beyond his interactions with Joel and Ellie.

Players can tear down posters and rebel during gameplay, yet Zoe in the cutscenes is still mostly unsure of what to do.

What Yoshida and Suzuki are talking about are merely seamless cutscenes in games, things we’ve seen in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriotsthe opening race sequence game, and so many more.

After a few short cutscenes and some battle preparation, the demo will take place entirely in the “Battle of Sishui Gate” mission.

As this is a remake, it has far better graphics than the original game, along with new animated cutscenes.

Most cutscenes are rendered in-engine and transition seamlessly in and out of gameplay, and the stuttering animations can be distracting.

Presented with new cutscenes nearly as polished as Super Mario Bros. Movie, the game is exquisitely animated and precisely engineered.

While this chapter doesn’t continue the main story, it is fully voiced with unique cutscenes and ties up a couple loose ends in the plot.

As such, many players might make some players excited to see their lovingly shaped versions of V in third-person cutscenes, but it looks like such an experience will be hard to come by.
