Cornerman Buddy McGirt was seen trying to convince Maxim Dadashev to stop the fight.

Dadashev (13-1, 11 KOs), from Saint Petersburg, Russia, and based in Oxnard, California, needed help leaving the ring.

Dadashev never got that chance.

Dadashev, whose manager Egis Klimas also handles Vasiliy Lomachenko and Sergey Kovalev, turned pro in April of 2016 and relocated to Southern California to pursue his ring ambitions, eventually signing with promoters Top Rank.

He tweeted: "So terribly sad to hear the news of the passing of Maxim Dadashev.

In another message issued in the US, the widow said: 'It is with great sadness that I confirm the passing of my husband, Maxim Dadashev.

These are the final moments of boxer Maxim Dadashev - in which he was pummelled by his Puerto Rican rival in the ring before collapsing with a brain bleed which killed him four days later.
