Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) presidential hopeful Dalitso Kabambe has jumped ship with barely a month to the party’s elective convention amid speculation he is poised to join Tonse Alliance breakaway UTM Party.

Former Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) presidential aspirant Dalitso Kabambe yesterday joined UTM Party with a promise to help the grouping win the 2025 General Elections, effectively confirming earlier speculation about his political direction.

Some concerned United Transformation Movement (UTM) supporters have protested against a move by some top officials to allow former Reserve Bank of Malawi (RBM) Governor Dalitso Kabambe take over the leadership of the party.

United Transformation Movement (UTM) Presidential Aspirant Dalitso Kabambe has denied reports hovering on the social media claiming that he is funding the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).

Reserve Bank of Malawi (RBM) Governor Dalitso Kabambe recently said this is reflected in the low numbers of people with pensions at 304 000 only and low uptake of insurance products at 1.4 percent insurance penetration.

They are Portugal-based Richard Mbulu, Robin Ngalande who tuns out for South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) side Baroka FC, Zambia-based Lusaka Dynamos winger Dalitso Sailesi and Mozambique-based John Banda.
