It cuts to four female dancers in front of Shepard Hall at City College of New York, then to four male dancers at Riverbank State Park, and then to the full eight dancers at the Adam Clayton Powell Jr. State Office Building.

It is traditional for male dancers to wear regalia decorated with beads, quills and eagle feathers; male grass dancers wear colorful fringe regalia; and male fancy dancers wear brightly colored feathers.

Nearly 80 percent of American Ballet Theatre’s current dancers came out of the ABT Studio program, including 13 soloists and nine principal dancers, among them Misty Copeland, David Hallberg and Isabella Boylston.

If there are two dancers onstage, or 6, or 25, can those dancers be said to be performing solos?

The professional dancers of the company are joined by student dancers and special guests in surprise roles, and as always, the production will be bolstered by high-quality special effects and dazzling sets.

In order to combat the potential negative feedback, the dancers can receive, Sendecki tries to remind the dancers that the judge’s opinion is only one opinion out of many.

In the other camp were several current dancers who, before Mr. Martins’s resignation, said the accusations against him did not jibe with the leader they know and that the complaints were coming from dancers who had left the company.

Phantom Circus brings back the art of circus with a vaudevillian flair and a touch of burlesque, with help from a professional cast of saucy jugglers, belly dancers, aerial dancers, contortionists, stilt-walkers and acrobats.

The 22 x 60-minute/90-minute format takes four professional dancers and choreographers and challenges them to form a new company of dancers who must compete in dance battles.

There are a total of 18 student choreographers creating 19 pieces, with the largest piece featuring 21 dancers and the smallest with six dancers.

A double figure of 8 involves four dancers tracing a whole figure of eight around the (now unoccupied) positions of the other couple; half the dancers typically start going around the outside first.

All the male dancers and Andy Stewart wore kilts, and the female dancers wore long white dresses with tartan sashes.
