Pennsylvania (CNN) — The manhunt for Danelo Cavalcante, the convicted murderer who escaped from prison in Pennsylvania nearly two weeks ago, has ended.

Pennsylvania State Police said in a statement on Sunday, Sept. 10, 2023, that Danelo Souza Cavalcante was seen overnight near Phoenixville in northern Chester County.

Tactical teams surrounded Danelo Cavalcante about 8am in a rural area 50km west of Philadelphia.

The police in Pennsylvania said Danelo Cavalcante, a convicted murderer who escaped from a Pennsylvania prison more than 10 days ago, was armed and had been spotted again on Monday night.

They say that Danelo Cavalcante is now armed and believed to be in the Northern Chester County town of South Coventry Township, the Pennsylvania State Police confirmed in a statement overnight.
