Coal India said that a 19% minimum guaranteed benefit on emoluments including basic salary, variable dearness allowance, special duty allowance and attendance bonus, and a 25% increase in allowances have been agreed upon.

Mr. Siddique was addressing the protesting State Government employees, who have been demanding a hike in dearness allowance (DA), in the Maidan area on Saturday when the incident happened, they said.

He listed out the various measures implemented by the DMK government, including the hike in dearness allowance and withdrawal of cases filed against government employees by the AIADMK regime.
