Dinolfo also touted the job growth in Monroe County saying the boots on the ground approach helped create and retain more than 20,000 local jobs in the past three and a half years.

Dinolfo said the county spends $560 million on services for children and families.

Dissolving the LDC's has saved the county money, though it's tricky to pinpoint a figure let alone to verify Dinolfo's claim that the savings totaled $30 million.

Originally, Dinolfo had the support and backing of the local Independence Party, but then the state Independence Party endorsed Bello.

They squared off in a primary that Dinolfo won.
