A shortage of family doctors is felt particularly acutely in rural northern Ontario, where the primary care doctors are often also the emergency department doctors and the hospital inpatient doctors.

Two senior doctors, who lead an emergency doctors’ committee for the walkouts, were recently given government notices that their licenses would be suspended for three months for allegedly inciting the junior doctors’ walkouts.

We were doctors — doctors who follow the rules, doctors who were taught to value all life equally.

However, the move to suspended the junior doctors seems to have made things worse after middle-level doctors and senior doctors also joined in the strike in solidarity with their colleagues and accused the government of blatant abuse and unfair treatment.

And pay those, who will train these district-level doctors, doctors from oblast hospitals and so on.

Association of Resident Doctors University Teaching Hospital (ESUTH), Enugu has called on the state government to increase doctors’ employment and enhance security within a 14-day time frame.
