Dodgems

At the fair are classic attractions like dodgems, teacups and the waltzer, while there are new rides unveiled this year including the 'Jet Force', the Freak Out and the Giant Ghost Train.

Returning for this festive season, friends and families can race on the Dodgems, get lost in a festive adventure in the Funhouse, and jump around on bungee trampolines.

The Ice Jet, which is a turbo-charged version of a Waltzer, will be back too, alongside all the family favourites such as the helter skelter; dodgems and ghost train plus the popular Fun House and Magic Mouse Rollercoaster.

There are also traditional amusements such as dodgems, waltzers and the ever-popular hook-a-duck game.

Features listed by one local were: “Dodgems, darts, candy floss and cuddly toys”.

This simplicity makes her occasional use of a poetic image (“The inky water moves in pleats”, “ideas like dodgems, colliding in her head”) all the more sublime.

The fortnight of family fun was set to feature an ice rink, an ice slide, Santa's Grotto, and dodgems on ice.
