According to the source, the ‘ghost of the civilian coup’ executed by the duo of Senator Bukola Saraki and Yakubu Dogara to emerge as Senate President and House of Representatives Speaker in 2015 is still haunting the ruling party.

The Director General, Brigadier General Yushau Dogara Ahmed, made the disclosure at a press conference on the scheme’s preparedness for the forthcoming general elections in Abuja on Wednesday.

Working committee was via a letter dated 28th November, 2022 in which we UNEQUIVOCALLY passed a vote of confidence on Prof. Dogara whose selfless leadership we highlighted in the said letter (a copy of the letter attached).

Dogara, speaking on Channels Television at the weekend, said there was no provision for fuel subsidy in the budget before Tinubu made the announcement.

Still expected are: Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio; former Speakers of the House, Aminu Bello Masari; Mrs Patricia Olubunmi Etteh; Yakubu Dogara and Femi Gbajabiamila.

According to him, as a former Speaker, Dogara was a member of PDP BoT and had not tabled any complaints before the board.

Also on the list are Governors of Osun, Ogun, Ekiti, Jigawa, Kaduna and Borno as well as Speaker Femi Gbahabiamila, Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege, former Speaker Yakubu Dogara, members of the National Assembly and Federal Executive Council.

Chief Fire Officer of the state Fire Service, Dalhatu Dogara revealed this in an interview with newsmen in Lafia, the state capital.

Dogara’s move is believed to be all about 2023 general elections.

He said Dogara’s grouse stemmed from personal issues with his state governor.

He said this to chide Dogara for failing to take advantage of the channels of dispute resolutions within the party.

He stated the party had secured Ondo State and facilitated the return of high profile members such as former Speaker of House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, and Senator Barnabas Gemade to the party.

I am equally sorry for Dogara for not exhausting all avenues available in the party’s constitution for settlement of disputes or complaints by a member of the party.

Nobody disputes the fact that the duo of Boss and Dogara are prominent politicians in Nigeria.

Prior to his defection from the APC Dogara had said he left the ruling party for PDP where his “dream of making Nigeria better could be realised”, adding that the party had failed Nigerians.

The governor gave the explanation when his supporters from the Dass, Tafawa Balewa and Bogoro Local Government Areas, where Dogara represents, paid him solidarity visit at the Government House, Bauchi, last Tuesday.

The guest list had the names of ex-Speaker of the House of Representative, Yakubu Dogara, and former spokesman, Timi Frank.

The ruling party also hailed the return of former House Speaker, Yakubu Dogara to its fold.
