Directed by Don Mancini, who has been involved in every Chucky film since the original 1988 film, the movie features Brad Dourif reprising his role as the voice of the titular killer doll.

Speaking with ComicBook.com in an exclusive interview, we asked Dourif about the moment, with the actor revealing he was nervous about it to start.

With assistance from some truly memorable acting by Ian McShane, Brad Dourif and Paula Malcomson, ’s sometimes over-the-top representations never veer far enough from reality for its inhabitants to become just characters.

Dourif is not participating in this new remake which means Chucky will be without one of his most distinguishing features.

In the end, though, its greatness and inherent watchability boils down to the charms of the wonderful Brad Dourif, who found in Chucky the vessel he needed to become a genre legend forevermore.

The cast also includes Jade Eshete, Hannah Marks, Mpho Koaho, Fiona Dourif, Dustin Milligan, and John Hannah.
