Dyspnea

While radiological assessments show that fibrinolytics can reduce effusion size, significant improvements in patient-reported dyspnea, a critical measure of treatment success, remain elusive.

Common symptoms include fever (temperature of 37.8 C or greater), a new or worsening cough, and shortness of breath (dyspnea).
