Elandslaagte

The resulting Battle of Elandslaagte was a clear-cut British tactical victory, but Sir George White feared that more Boers were about to attack his main position and so ordered a chaotic retreat from Elandslaagte, throwing away any advantage gained.

November 2017: A police officer was shot during an attempted robbery at the Elandslaagte police station near Vryheid in KwaZulu-Natal.

She has served as a Station Commander at Elandslaagte SAPS, Colenso SAPS and Umbumbulu SAPS, as well as CSC Commander at Ezakheni SAPS.

POWs sent overseas The first sizeable batch of Boer prisoners of war taken by the British consisted of those captured at the Battle of Elandslaagte on 21 October 1899.
