Fetishizing

As the band progresses, and Amina grows into her romantic confidence, the season plays with the way a kind of fetishizing adoration can be as toxic as rejection, both artistically and personally.

I did try to see a “sex-positive” therapist who was very woke, but after I tearfully confessed my fetish she shamed me for fetishizing gay men and making their lives harder, and called me a homophobe while I sat there and sobbed.

I say all this to say, the constant obsession and fetishizing of mixed-raced children needs to be called out in the hopes of quelling the messages such behaviors send.
