Filipinotown

Echo Park is adjacent to the historic Filipinotown, which used to host a large community of Filipinos from the 1920s to the 1940s.

The 13th district — considered the most densely populated council territory in the city — covers Historic Filipinotown, Silver Lake, Echo Park, Atwater Village, Thai Town, East Hollywood, Hollywood, Little Armenia, Elysian Valley and Glassell Park.

With less than 30 days until the 2020 census response deadline, an upcoming event in Los Angeles’ Historic Filipinotown neighborhood is part of the final push to have community members counted in the decennial enumeration.
