Fixations

No-one in the Global Majority is particularly interested to listen to western leaders, with their litany of cultural fixations, whilst their societies’ ‘Life’ problems spiral down into real crisis.

I notice that the new album shares a lot of the fixations and themes found on your previous projects.

On Sundays, I grab one or two cookbooks to peruse for inspiration and check my favorite food bloggers for posts I've saved (Sweet Savory and Steph are my current hyper-fixations).

And those influences, especially that of Parks, come through on the first single "Green Lemon Buggy," a song that marries two of the band's key fixations: food and travel.

But despite their grisly fixations, I found that the individuals who consume these hideous tales tend to be funny and honest, self-aware and self-deprecating.

By allowing these women to detail their fixations through their personal histories, the film contextualizes the impact of boy bands, without critically maligning either party.

The easiest way to tell where the bromances are is to look where the fixations are.

What is hard to understand is whether this passion for mediocrity is the result of ideological fixations or whether it is guided by vested interests.

But one such as this does not get involved with or cling to these attachments, clingings, fixations of awareness, biases, or obsessions; nor is he resolved on "my self".
