The Marion County prosecutor says Jalen Frierson on Thursday was found guilty of two counts of murder and a count of robbery resulting in serious bodily injury after a three-day trial.

According to the plea bargain, Frierson admitted to carrying the weapon for protection when he was out making drug deals.

Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, a Democrat from Missouri who has also taken up Jamal’s case, helped draft the bill and “fully supports” it, said spokeswoman Heather Frierson.
