Gatwa, 31, was born in the city of Kigali in Rwanda on 15 October 1992, during the country’s civil war.

Gatwa is the first black actor to be cast as the Doctor, with the announcement made in March that he’ll replace Jodie Whittaker under returning showrunner Russell T Davies.

Gatwa was raised mostly in Dunfermline and Edinburgh where he attended Boroughmuir High School and Dunfermline High School, before moving to Glasgow to study acting at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

In addition to Tennant & Gatwa, the event sees (Shirley Anne Bingham), and the late taking part in the timey-wimey adventure.

It's too early to know exactly what Ncuti Gatwa's first series of will look like, but going on the evidence of location filming and the upcoming 60th-anniversary specials, it does seem to be covering old ground.

Much like Tennant before him, during his original tenure on as the Tenth Doctor, Gatwa will then make his first full appearance at Christmas.

Ncuti Gatwa, Emma Mackey, and Asa Butterfield lead as three friends sorting their way through Moordale Secondary School, its student body, and the trials of the heart that lie within.

Ncuti Gatwa will be appearing in the Christmas special on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from 5.55pm on Christmas Day.

Other celebrities who will star in the movie include Simu Liu, Dua Lipa, Ncuti Gatwa, Michael Cera, and Kate McKinnon.

Stars Mackey and Ncuti Gatwa (Eric) have similarly confirmed that, if the show is renewed for season 5, they won't be returning.

Tennant’s Doctor will remain alive and the new series will follow Gatwa on his adventures.

Tennant was never meant to become the Time Lord once again for a long time, and his new adventures will set the stage for the iteration of the character played by Gatwa.

As the leader of the Gatwa's Doctor has been inconsistent in one area, and while it hasn't had an impact on the story, one moment in "Dot and Bubble" could be an important milestone for how Fifteen is perceived by the audience.
