Genuflection

The pessimists fear he might abandon even the hollow genuflection that the US still makes to the idea of a creating an independent Palestine alongside Israel – the so-called two state solution.

It would be hard to single out who won the race to express the greatest love of Israel, whose genuflection short of lying prone on the floor and whose statements represented the greatest violation of international law.

It is celebrated at the time of ninth hour (3:00pm) on the Sunday of Pentecost by a special three-segment prayer known as the "Office of Genuflection (Kneeling Prayer)".

The Puritans objected to ornaments and ritual in the churches as idolatrous (vestments, surplices, organs, genuflection), which they castigated as " popish pomp and rags".
