In the film, Ghostface finally directly calls Gale Weathers, after five films in which the character investigated and reported on the murders but had never received a call from Ghostface.

An album-long collaboration with Ghostface Killah was rumored for several years, and various songs leaked that reportedly were recorded for the project, which was to be entitled either Ghostface Meets Metalface or Swift & Changeable.

Ghostface Killah and Doom released the track "Victory Laps" and in early 2013, Ghostface announced that the collaboration album Swift & Changeable is on track to be released by the end of the year.

When Doom anonymously submitted a beat tape for Ghostface Killah, several of his tracks made the cut for Ghostface's 2006 albums Fishscale and More Fish, including the song "9 Milli Bros.," which featured the Wu-Tang Clan in its entirety.

Amusingly, after being suspiciously absent for one of the major Ghostface attacks, the group immediately suspects he is the culprit.

And several people dressed up as Ghostface.

As Cotton is asked about his girlfriend, the voice quickly shifts back to the now-iconic high-tech Ghostface filter.

But, in an effort to subvert expectations, neither happened; Kirby survived being stabbed and shot several times by Ghostface, while Gale miraculously survived an extended chase sequence fitting of a character sendoff.

It leads to a familiar chase with Ghostface through the fake house, except this time, when Sidney makes it up the stairs and rushes to her bedroom, she opens the door to find nothing but open air, and barely stops herself from falling to her death.

It seems like this Ghostface is trying to kill the last Woodsboro survivors (though Sidney's absence might make that a bit difficult) for an unknown reason (though, in true fashion, it'll likely relate to horror movie tropes).

Meanwhile, Ethan was in the van with Mindy and Kirby, tracking Ghostface's location.

Naturally, a change in location is interesting enough on its own, although 's stars have already discussed the ways in which New York makes for a particularly exciting playground for Ghostface.
