Gibeonites

In Joshua 9, the Gibeonites living in the land of Canaan heard about the Israelites' campaign into the promised land and their overwhelming victories at Jericho and Ai.

Chapter 11:16–23 summarises the extent of the conquest: Joshua has taken the entire land, almost entirely through military victories, with only the Gibeonites agreeing peaceful terms with Israel.
