A Quebec historical group is adding its voice to those opposing naming a future station of the Réseau express métropolitain in Griffintown for former premier Bernard Landry.

MONTREAL -- Montreal Mayor Valerie Plante is proposing that the Reseau express metropolitain (REM) station in the Griffintown neighbourhood of downtown Montreal be named in honour of late Quebec Premier Bernard Landry.

The track will now be elevated from Brossard to Central Station, as will an eventual station to serve the Griffintown/Pointe-St-Charles area.
