Distinct play zones are inspired by The Gruffalo, The Gruffalo’s Child, Zog, The Snail and the Whale, Room on the Broom and The Highway Rat.

The festival will particularly cater to families with The Wild Wood, where children can meet beloved book characters like Elmer, Supertato, and the Gruffalo.

Vue’s Big Shorts will bring back favourite children’s characters from television shows and web series, including The Gruffalo's Child and Zog and the Flying Doctors.

Payne added: “Today I think he’s a Gruffalo, which I think is cute, and he’s often Elsa (from ‘Frozen’).
