Gushungo

Hailing from the Gushungo clan, Maruva-Dinha is a favourite ahead of Ziyambi who is rumoured to be from Masvingo and only qualification for candidacy is a family farm in the Zowa area.

At one time Grace, whose family seized more than 20 farms during Mugabe’s reign — including the one where the dairy is built — once described her late husband and herself as farmers, who have installed a state-of-the-art plant at Gushungo Estate.

Flowers arranged in the shape of the word “Gushungo”, Mugabe’s clan name, decorated the steps of the building.

The only property he has publicly acknowledged owning is Gushungo Holdings and there seems to be no dispute about that.
