Damascus, SANA- Seven civilians were injured in shelling attacks carried out by armed groups on Harasta residential suburb and Esh al-Warwar neighborhood on Sunday.

Fighters from the Islamist Faylaq al-Rahman faction were the latest to leave Eastern Ghouta, following in the wake of another hardline group that quit the town of Harasta last week.

Harasta is on the staff of The Texas Catholic, newspaper of the Diocese of Dallas.

HARASTA, Syria (AFP) – Buses waited outside a bombed-out town in Syria’s Eastern Ghouta on Thursday after a deal was announced to evacuate rebels and civilians following weeks of regime bombardment.

He added that Harasta area was equipped by a mobile medical team, noting that work is underway to rehabilitate the health center of Saqba which is set to resume its services within a week.

However, Hamza Birqadar, a spokesman for Jaish al-Islam, one of the two main insurgent groups in eastern Ghouta, denied that either Harasta or Douma had been cut off.

In apparent retaliation, one person was killed in rebel mortar fire on the government-controlled part of the town of Harasta, according to state news agency SANA.

Regime fighters cut off a road linking Douma with the town of Harasta further west and also captured the town of Misraba, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
