At age 17 some students decide to apply for university or stay on for 6th year, where other Highers are gained, or Advanced Highers are studied.

Completing the list of the top ten schools in Scotland is Bishopbriggs Academy where 73% of pupils gained five or more Highers.

In 2017 just 23% of pupils achieved five Highers.

In the last year, 89 per cent of pupils achieved five or more Highers.

Wester Hailes High School in was next with 1 per cent achieving five or more Highers, a massive drop from 14 per cent in 2021.
