One such unit is the United States Air Force’s 846th Test Squadron (846 TS) at Holloman Air Force Base (AFB), New Mexico.

The lawsuit surrounds the case of toxic firefighting foam that contaminated the ground near Holloman and Cannon Air Force bases.

It was placed on display at Holloman AFB on 5 April 2008.

On their first deployment, with the aid of aerial refueling, pilots flew non-stop from Holloman to Kuwait, a flight of approximately 18.5 hours – a record for single-seat fighters that stands today.

The first six aircraft to be retired made their last flight on 12 March 2007 after a ceremony at Holloman AFB to commemorate the aircraft's career.
