Honorees

The hall announced 12 honorees for enshrinement Sept. 5-7 in Springfield, Mass. Other honorees on hand Saturday were former NBA stars Sidney Moncrief, Paul Westphal, Bobby Jones and Vlade Divac, and former women’s star Teresa Weatherspoon.

Additional honorees this year included Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass.

After the presentation of the proclamations, one of the two honorees’ friends said, “I’m very happy and proud to see all of these Black and brown young men with their pants up.

Also to be given out are the Philippine Champions, International and Regional Champions, Ring Excellence Awards, Top Honorees, Amateur Divisions, Citations and Posthumous Awards.

Each of the honorees walked down the center aisles of the Senate and Assembly to receive gilt-framed resolutions honoring their work.

Honorees Dale Sherrod and Leona Stoecker were unable to attend the ceremony, but both drew applause for their accomplishments.

Honorees include Janyll Barber of women’s track and field, Sara Krauseneck of women’s hockey and Matt Araujo of men’s hockey.

In the business sector, 2023 Forty Under 40 honorees are trailblazers, driving innovation and shaping the local economy.

Jamaican-American entrepreneur is one of 21 honorees at the first annual Presidential Lifetime Achievement Awards ceremon.

The 2023 honorees will be notified in May and invited to attend the Leading Women event in New York in August.

The actors guild announced that Field will be the 58th recipient of the tribute award, following recent honorees including Dame Helen Mirren, Robert De Niro, Alan Alda and Morgan Freeman.

The evening’s other honorees included Algorithmic Justice League founder Joy Buolamwini, actor and Amina J. Mohammed, deputy secretary-general of the United Nations.

The Indians graduated 11 players, including three all-state honorees in Kassidy Wittig, Maria Chutko and Abby Scheller.

The Latin American Association will hold its 34th annual Compañeros Awards Luncheon on April 13 to recognize honorees for their contributions in the community.

The Macedonia Legacy Luncheon will feature an impressive lineup of honorees, including Congresswoman Maxine Waters, who will be present at the event and is considered by many to be one of the most powerful women in American politics today.

The welcome address was followed by a recognition of past years’ honorees by ANCA Western Region Education Committee Member Medea Kalognomos.

Trade Show Executive Editor-in-Chief Gabrielle Weiss said, “A heartfelt congratulations to all the honorees.

Twelve women at the event were declared Silver Honorees, meaning they have been involved in AKA for 25 years.
