The sort of marginalization the Igbo lament loudly about today comes from failure of Igbo politicians and failure of Igbo politics.

One thing I would say which some of my Igbo friends might not want to accept is that I can promote, work for, assist and make sure and Igbo man becomes President of Nigeria but I cannot work for an Igbo President.

And that will be Buhari’s legacy: he will be remembered as either the last president of Nigeria, or as the man who fought the Igbo, and failed because the Igbo will still be there, when Buhari leaves the stage permanently, and he will leave the stage.
