The Senator representing Ikot Ekpene senatorial district, Sen. Christopher Ekpenyong, has urged the Federal Government to consider Ikot Ekpene-Umuahia, Aba- Ikot Ekpene, and Ikot Ekpene-Calabar Highways for privatisation.

Calling on the government for immediate intervention, he suggested that adequate security personnel be stationed in Ikot Akpan Udom village and environs in other to stem further invasion.

Speaking at an ongoing rally in Ikot Ekpene to welcome Akpabio to the APC, Lawan who represents Yobe north constituency, likened the capture of Akpabio to the loss of the 14 senators who dumped APC for the PDP.
