Speaking on the impacts of the IPPIS recently, the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Folashade Yemi-Esan, noted that the IPPIS had continued to aid in the detection of civil servants with fake employment letters.

The government has also written university managements to prepare to stop lecturers salaries from November if they do not call off their strike and enrol on IPPIS.

The reality is that IPPIS has come to stay.

There is evidence to prove that many people are on the payroll under IPPIS yet they are not working anywhere.

There were reports sometime that the federal government was ready to accept your own template of IPPIS but you failed to produce the document promising many months before it could be ready.

The university lecturers have been on strike over some key issues such as the use of Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) for salary payment, funding for revitalization of public universities, Earned Academic Allowances (EAA), etc.

This accusation is very much unfair to IPPIS.

Further, he stated that IPPIS violated the provisions of the law, and the union is appalled that government is losing sight of the law respecting the power vested on the councils to dispense finances of the universities.

He added that IPPIS will not allow for deductions from staff salaries arising from legally sanctioned union and cooperative society activities.

He gave them an assignment to break into a website and one of the students broke into IPPIS website and for 24 hours, that site was brought down.
