Carlisle Comic Con organiser Neil Livesey said: "The Carlisle Comic Con Organising team were stunned and saddened as the many many Doctor Who fans at the passing of Michael Jayston.

From then, Jayston was brought up as an only child by his grandmother and uncle.

Michael Jayston, who appeared in the hit BBC sitcom Only Fools and Horses, has died at the age of 88 after a short illness.

Michael Jayston played Captain von Trapp, Honor Blackman was the Baroness and June Bronhill the Mother Abbess.
