Training is critical and the essence of what we do to buy back readiness, and that’s where JRTC and NTC come in. What JRTC and the other combat training centers do is present different threat scenarios.

As that related to the JRTC and Fort Polk, Henry said the question was this: How do we continue our role in training large combat formations for large-scale combat on multi-domain operations?

Henry said his biggest challenge to date has been the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on not only the JRTC and Fort Polk but the military as a whole.

Here at JRTC our U.S. Army brigades and members of our sister services experience a training event in a very real and complex environment.

Later, as a lieutenant, company commander and battalion S-3, his unit participated in JRTC rotations.

The 4th Security Force Assistance Brigade, or SFAB, also kicked off training at JRTC under the new safety guidelines in June.

While the trip was Esper’s first to the JRTC as Secretary of the Army, he did “visit” during rotations while a member of the active Army and National Guard.
