I said that Labour councillors would no doubt be busily penning their CVs to represent the good people of Kemptown in the but it appears had they done so it would have all been in vain as the decision had clearly already been made.

Southdown were part of the nationalised NBC group and were based at Freshfield Road in the Kemptown area; Brighton Borough Transport were owned by the council and used the former tram depot at Lewes Road as their headquarters.
