KidSport Port Alberni provides grants to cover the costs of registration fees to that all kids in Port Alberni can play sports.

New numbers from KidSport BC show demand is on the rise for financial assistance as parents try to keep their young ones in organized sports.

KidSport has launched their 13 annual Give the Gift of Sport campaign, calling on British Columbians to donate this holiday season to help meet the growing demand from families who need financial support to register their child in organized sport.

All proceeds from the event go to KidSport BC.

Crystal Marschner, Family and Youth Program Coordinator with FCSS, is facilitating the setting up of a KidSport chapter in the Smoky River Region.

Money raised through the event supports SPAC racers as well as KidSport Kamloops, an organization that helps children take part in athletic programming and buy equipment.
