IOWA — The Iowa Yellow Jackets did what no team has really been able to do in three seasons, contain Leesville’s powerful running back Xavier Ford on Friday at Jesse E. Cady Stadiu.

LaGrange and Leesville will play for the title tonight in Lake Charles.

NOTE: Leesville will travel to No. 2 South Beauregard in the regional round.

The City of Leesville, and Allen and Beauregard Parishes will also receive grants.

After seeing the tournament spread out between the Scott Gym and Batesburg-Leesville High during the first two days…all eight teams gathered together for the final day of the contest in Newberry.

House Bill 472 by Rep. Major Thibaut, D-New Roads, is now pending introduction in the Senate, where Sen. John Smith, R-Leesville, is expected to handle the bill.

She also loved hosting friends in her home and on her pontoon boat at Leesville Lake.

The rest of the tournament standings were Clover (third place), Batesburg-Leesville (fourth), Airport (fifth), Pelion (sixth), Mid-Carolina (seventh) and Columbia finished eighth in the tournament.

Routes into downtown Columbia originating from Camden, Newberry, and Batesburg-Leesville are in consideration, as is a potential line between Columbia and Charlotte connecting the two mainlines of the future Southeastern High Speed Rail Corridor.

There are currently six urgent care centers located in Lexington, Irmo, Batesburg-Leesville, Swansea, and Gilbert.
